Right down the middle

I did all the compensating stitches in amongst the vines and cord tonight, and then a tad more on the left side down to the next rose that is unstitched. I also lightened the photo a great deal so you can see the actual background pattern.

Looking good. I am not a big fan of compensating stitches, but they are a must do to make things look right.

Pat, thank you for lightening the background so we can see how pretty it is. This is a mix of your silk/wool thread (Silk N Ivory?) and Splendor silk, right?

I think it is really gorgeous, even if you did have to do a ton of compensation.

Thanks, Mary, for the Sunshine Award! Yes, the background is worked with two threads. The long stitches are Impressions in three strands, and the short ones are six strands of Splendor.
