Back at home!

We have been on a three week trip and got home today!  I am pretty much over the horrid cold we both caught while gone but still have a scratchy voice!

We left and headed for Lexington, KY and visited family.  Also, stopped in M's Canvashouse--mre about that later as I unpack.  Then on to Asheville, NC to stay with friends, go to the baby shower previously mentioned, and visit more family. Also, visited my needlework shop there--more later.  Next we headed to Charleston, SC to see more friends and I visited the shop I posted about earlier.  As I finish unpacking I will show you what I got there.  Then we traveled up the coast, stopped at Kill Devil Hills, the Cape Hatteras lighthouse, the Outer Banks and visited more friends.  Last leg of the tour was up to CT to stay with friends for Easter.  There I visited the Sudberry Outlet store  in Old Saybrook and picked up some boxes that will hold the 4 inch square designs--remember the Christmas designs?

We left CT on Monday and got home this afternoon.  Still unpacking but getting there!

Back to business

I am back from vacation in Connecticut!  We had a wonderful trip and the weather was fantastic.  We went to the Big E(xposition), Vermont country Store, Basketville, Yankee Candle, Whatley, Newport, Waterbury, Foxwoods Casino and lots of other fun stuff.  Coming back to reality like laundry, grocery shopping and pulling weeds!  LOL  And, my stitching.  I finished filling in the bottom leaf with the blend of silver cord.  It is ready to do the twist and couch the cord around the outside.  I also did some stitching in the car.  This is one of the Colonial Needle purses and I bought the initial letter P canvas by Lee and stitched it in the car traveling.
To do the insert was very easy when I got home.  I trimmed the canvas and removed the protective paper and gently lifted the edges and placed the piece on the sticky surface.  It said to glue the edge but I used double sided sticky tape as it was less messy.  I am impressed with the quality of this bag.  It has a large zipper pocket on one side and two smaller pouches on the other.....think cell phone and pen holder.

Progress on Ecrusheen

All the sets of three Straight Base Sprat's Heads are worked on all four sides now. Then I started the sets of three done in the Floche again. Looks like we are building a pyramid!

We spent a few days in Atlanta--commonly referred to as Hotlanta! We went with friends of ours and visited the Aquarium, the Botanical gardens, the History Museum, Centennial Park,
some woodworking shops for DH, needlepoint stores for me!, and did some antiquing! It was a great trip! It was very hot and sunny for the whole trip! It is, however, nice to back in the mountains where it is a little cooler!
