Christmas 2012 finished

Today I did the finishing on Christmas 2012 ornament by Threedles.  I followed the instructions in the pattern and had DH cut the 2 inch square of Styrofoam and padded it with lightweight quilt batting-angel-like the directions said.  I did a twisted cord from Kreinik for the hanger. 

The first two

I did the finishing on the first two of the two sided ornaments I created from the Threedles pattern-Christmas ornament 2012.  If you recall, I did them on the edges of the canvas from the original design.  The one on the left is green and gold and the one on the right is red and silver. They are two sided and the back sides each have one of the other designs.  I followed the finishing instructions in the pattern and simply added a piece of angel quilt batting--the thin one--in between and added a simple Kreinik hanger.

Last one

I did one more set of two of the patterns from the Christmas ornament 2012 by Threedles.  I wanted to use up the canvas while it was on the stretcher bars, so I did this one in Christmas green and gold Kreinik.  Next to finish them all into ornaments!

All stitched!

I finished the other side of the Christmas ornament 2012.  Remember, I have taken two of the motifs from the pattern by Threedles and stitched those in the extra canvas space.  When I am ready to start finishing, this one will be a two sided ornament. 

Almost done

I finished up the design on the left and added the silver Kreinik.  Then I have all of the Amadeus done and am working on the silver Fleur de Lis.....almost there!

A red variation

A while back, I stitched the Christmas ornament 2012 by Threedles.  You can see a bit of it at the top of the red and silver  piece here.  There is enough canvas at the top and bottome to stitch two more squares of the patterns.  I am going to make this into a two sided  ornament  and use up more of the canvas before finishing the cube.  I am using red Splendor and silver Kreinik to create this one.

The last beads

A Different view is done!  All of the crystals and beads are in and I also finished the eyelet stitches.  I tried several shots to get the beads and all to show up, but they just don't want to.  Double click on the photo and it does get a little bigger so you can see some!  Sorry!

Crystals, bugles and

I have started attaching blue, green, fuschia and amethyst crystals around the outside border  and blue Mill Hill beads in the 8 pointed stars.  Crystals are attached in the top and left Octagon along with the blue Mill Hills and on the top one...some white bugle beads.  About half done!

There!

All of the stitching is done......except for that bit on three where I ran out of fiber....any way....I finished all the Kreiniks, Patina, and Sparkle Braid in the fourth one and did both of the bottom two pattern boxes.  One is done with Pebbly Perle and Bijoux and the other is done with Patina, Bijoux and Kreinik.  On to the crystals and beads!

Octagon 4

I finished all of the Crescents around the center with the Kreinik and then added eyelet stitches with Pebbly Perle.....the Crescents took a long time and a lot of thread but are gorgeous!

Moving on

All of Octagon 3 is complete except for 4 eyelet stitches around the outside--see the blank space?  I ran out of fiber and will be getting that soon.  So I started on the bottom Octagon.  I did the center with Frosty Rays and an Amadeus variation and overlaid that with purple Kreinik.  I have started the red heart designs that will go around the outside of the center box.

I finished the last of the Star Jessicas and then did eyelet stitches around the center square with Kreinik.  Next red fern stitches, and last I am working on Amadeus patterns around the outside and there is still one more step for this Octagon!

Lots going on

This Octagon design started with a square of Smrynas.  Then a Rhodes stitch in the center with Frosty Rays.  An overlay of Bijoux in turquoise covered that.  The corner Crescents and the Ray stitches are done in two different colors of Kreinik.  The star Jessicas, all 20 of them, are being worked in Panache.  I still have 2 to do!

Squares Three

I finished the Amadeus variations, added Crescents in the corner and overlaid them with Kreinik braid....all done except for sewing it together!

Starting 3

I finished both the Square twos....I finished the Fleur-de lis patterns in both and added the eyelet stitches.  I have started the final squares by working another variation on the Amedueus dagger.

Square two

I have started the Square Two design on the Threedles Christmas 2012 ornament.  This time the diagonal Amadeus Daggers are turned and worked to create the prominent pattern with the Splendor.  Next I have started the Fleur-de-lis Crescents with the Kreinik creating the heart shapes....five more of those to go!

One third

One third of the ornament is done as I have completed both of Square one.  Sprats Heads are stitiched all the way around and overlaid with Kreinik in an eyelet style stitch.  Bling!

Amadeus Diagonals

I finished all of the blades of the Amadeus Diagonals using the 3 strands of Splendor....boxes 2 and 4 are going to be identical!

Adding in

I have added the Christmas 2012 ornament by Threedles into the rotation.  It is the 2 inch cube ornament and is worked on 18 count.  The six boxes are stitched in place with Kreinik and the Diagonal Amadeus Daggers have been started with 3 strands of Splendor.  I am using the blue colorway on the pattern but did not have Soie Cristale so switched to Splendor.

This is also home

I also picked up the Venus Eyes by Threedles at the framers.  It is a beautiful silver frame with the lush amethyst mat.  This piece will hang in my niece's home!
