Finished Fran's Angel

I finished the wings with the three different threads--blending filament, cord, and silk.  Then I tied the gold bow under her chin.  Last, I used gold Purl, stretched it out and couched it in place with gold silk.  Last, I ran
downstairs into the frame stash and found the perfect one for this angel.  She is finished and going in the gift bag for my sister!

Fran's Angel update

Today I put in the hands and sleeve.  Then I started the wings.  They are worked with one strand of silk, Kreinik gold and iridescent blending filament.  Needless to say those three threads in a needle are slippery than what?  I finished the right one....learned two new swear words, and then got most of the left one done...only one more new swear word.....that was it for tonight!

What in the World?

Okay, just stare at it for a minute because I will tell you what it is......ready?.....This is called Fran's Angel!  I am working on a 9 x 9 piece of congress Cloth.  It was designed by a friend of mine a while ago....okay, a long time ago....and we will leave it at that.  Anyway, first, I padded under the gold Kid with three layers and then couched the head in place.  Below the head is size 16 Braid and I  backstitched the area.  Below that I have couched two strands of Japanese Gold.  For her wing, I started one side with Kreinik cord, a strand of China silk and a strand of Blending filament....just to see how it will look and then I went back and started down the side of her skirt with two more strands of Japanese Gold.  She is not real big, but she is going to be
cute!
