More of the large orange

I worked on the large orange rose that is front and center at the bottom!  I am moving around a bit to get some of the larger sections started.

All the bubbles

I have stitched all of the bubbles all over the canvas....the red and pink circles you see here and there!

Another section

I finished the larger center flower.  I beaded and added sequins to the center.  I also did more of the yellow and gold background spikes, and did a couple of the bubbles.  They are at the bottom and one is pink and one is red.

Red & Pink Flowers

I have started the red and pink flowers on the left.  The two buds are finished and I am working on the large one in the middle.  The bottom wine leaf is also finished.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!  Enjoy the day with family and friends
and I hope you were so good this year that you got everything on your list!

A lot of green

I finished up both of the green buds, did the yellow and gold spikes in the background and all the leaves around the red and pink flowers on the left.

The first Green flower

I added the bottom stem, the first green flower, the stems to the buds and one calyx.
Holiday festivities and guests coming won't leave much time to stitch for a few days!

Second One

I stitched the peach and orange rose--that is what I am calling them!  I also added the yellow and gold spikes above the red and pink rose.

Let the fun begin!

I have stitched the first flower and a green and burgundy leaf.  I am going to work across to the left and down on flowers and leaves.

More of the same

I made it across the top and am working down the side now.  Hopefully one more day of background work!

Needleworker's Bookmark

My sister makes beaded bookmarks so I asked for some that were needlework related!  This one has black and white beads on the wire and one end has a scissor that is about 2.5 inches long.  The other end has another pair of scissors and a spool with thread wrapped around it.  It is about 16" long and is great in my books....when I have time to read!

The pattern develops

Originally, I planned on just working the background a little at a time, but I changed my mind and am working all of it.  It works up fast and there is some sparkle in it.

Spring Fever

Going on the bars next is Spring Fever by Machelle Somerville, design MS056.  This is a 12 x 24 design on 14 count.  I have gathered threads and am ready to get started on this one.  This is for the oldest son and his fiance' that live in Lexington, KY.  I will also write the guide for this as I go!

And a broom!

I stitched the broom handle in glow in the dark and wrapped the straw on the broom with some more!

All the hats

The witches hats are all beaded.  These are not glow in the dark but really bright!

More black and

I added more rows of the horizontal background and beaded the two hats on the right.  I put white behind the piece today so you could see the background better, but it lightened up the beading.

Background, step two

I am going to tack all of the vertical threads with a woven darning pattern.  Gives a lot of shine to the background but not too busy!

Working on the background

I am starting with the background on this one.  I did baste the outside edges to make it easier for laying in the threads.
