Sue Parsons of West Coast Finishing did a wonderful job of finishing the Counting Sheep design! It is a door hanger. The back is green silk and the white and green twisted cord is accessorized by the green and black bows at the top! Great gift for the expected great nephew!
It takes a long time to create heirlooms. Photos and information on this blog are not free to be pinned, copied, or transferred without my permission. Please be cyber savvy and ask before taking.

And done!
I finished all of the Angora stitching. If you are stitching this by following the blog, the fur takes two cards of the Angora. I added smaller bells to the sheep on the left and right and a little bit bigger one for the center sheep. Then I carefully brushed them with the Bunka brush. This one is ready to send to the finisher!

Starting Sheep
First I stitched the gold bell areas in tent/basketweave using Kreinik#8 in 002. Then I outlined the bodies and heads following the yellow painted area in tent using Fuzzy Stuff 22. The ears and feet are upright Gobelin stitches in Alpaca 18 64.
I then started the bodies. They are Angora 01 in horizontal Gobelin over four threads. The heads are horizontal Gobelin over two in the same Angora 01.

More grass and ....
I am working my way down the lawn! All of the letters and foot prints are stitched in place so I am working around them as I head down the canvas.

Working on the grass
The grass is worked in Threadworx Floss 1049 in Brick Stitch over two. The footprints and letters are done in Entice 01 in tent stitches, with the occasional cross stitch so that that fill in properly.

Letters, Numbers
I am continuing the background stitching and am adding the letters and numbers in Entice 01. I am filling those with tent stitches as I work down the canvas.

Borders and Background
I have finished the borders and then started the background. The background is worked with 3 strands of Splendor 860 in Bargello Line Pattern #2 from Stitches for Effects. I am using the laying tool to maximize sheen.

Outside border
I have tent stitched the outside row with 3 strands of Cosmo floss, color 120. Next I am working Rhodes squares next to the tent row using #8 Kreinik in 191 for the yellow and 9194 for the green.
Happy New Year!
Wishing everyone a safe and prosperous 2018!

Counting Sheep
Next up: Counting Sheep by the Meridith Collection, S163. This is a 5 x 7 design on 18 count that will be finished into a door hanger, at least that is what I think right now.
