The third and fourth line

I have finished both of the bottom lines.  The Just Kidding is a padded Satin stitch and the fourth line is tent stitches again.  The red Silk Lame is sparklier than the photo shows.  Next I  need to get started on the Bitch row.

Head over and check out Jane's progress too!

The first full line

I have stitched all of the lettering in the first line in tent stitches in red Silk Lame Braid.  I have plans the Bitch letters but the top and bottom line will be tent as they are so thin.  The 3rd row is also going to be a different stitch.
Check out Jane's progress at Chilly Hollow too!  She has more done than I do!

All of the background darning pattern is done!  Time to move on to the lettering!  Think bling!

Jane has all of her background done too!  She added a set of lips too!  Cute!

More background

This week's progress shows a few more rows of hearts in place.  Silverfox has asked about the rows outside of the canvas area.  She asked if this is waste knots or part of the darning pattern.  What you are seeing is the beginning and ending pin stitches as well as my turning location.  I work the darning pattern across, go a few stitches beyond the row, come up in one row and go down next to it to turn the thread so it lays in channel in the direction I want to go.  Since darning is over and under, I want the thread to lay flat at the very edges as well.  These stitches outside the canvas design allow for my stitches across and back to lay flat.  I did a close up of the edges so you can also see the threads laying behind the canvas.  Hope this answers the question and if not, leave another comment and I will try and explain more.

By the way, check out Jane's blog....she is auditioning stitches for her background as well.  She has left her stitches in the side margins.  I pulled mine all out so you did not get to see them!  I only auditioned three stitches and two colors--using stash threads!

Week two!

So, this week I added more rows of hearts.  Darning patterns are great....unless you make a mistake!
I have put in quite a few rows, ripped a few rows, and put them back in.  Stitching through the words is a bit of a challenge I will admit!

A decision made.

It took a few different stitches and also thread choices, but we have a decision!  I auditioned several stitches in the bottom border, which I have now pulled out.  I also teetered between a white background and the pink.  The pink will soften the bright red too. The darning heart pattern is worked in pink perle to add a little irony to the saying!  I am counting through the wording as well.  This background make take a while!

Sense of Humor please!

This one requires a sense of humor!  It is red glittered on a white background. The canvas is from Bloomin' Stitches Needlework and can be ordered in the colors of your choice.  This is a gift
for someone who loves it!  I am thinking pillow for the finishing at this point.

The design area is about 5 x 5 with a penciled background area of 8 x 8 on 18 count.   Jane of Chilly Hollow is stitching a purple lettered on a glittered background.  We will be stitching these and posting about them on Wednesdays.  So I will frame this up and pull some more thread!
