Fini!

I completed the flower with ribbon and added the beads to the wheels in the center of the white area.  I am finishing the stitch guide next!

And the big ones!

All of the big leaves are also done!  I used another Silken Straw for the broad part of the leaves and the same dark green for the veins that is on the small ones.

Little green leaves

I worked all of the little Green leaves that are in the white and gold area using Straw Silk.  This is a great fiber as it is over-dyed and has a lot of sheen.  There are a multitude of uses for this thread!

Swirled

All the Japanese gold is now swirled on the yellow!  Moving on to the leaves!

Gold swirls

I am working on the gold swirls on the yellow sections laying in Japanese gold and couching it in place.

Beaded ribbons

I finished the beaded ribbons!  This is moving along fairly quickly and I love the additional bling!

More beads

Plan A did not work like I wanted, so Plan B works for the gold detail on the maroon ribbon--gold beads!
Much better than my original plan!

The edge

Time to work the edge of the gold area with some Japanese gold couched all in a row!

And that section

I finished the rest of the yellow basket weave. Notice I have left all the gold areas undone?  Be patient, I am going as fast as I can!  LOL

Yellow!

I am working on the left and bottom yellow areas, almost done with those too!

All that gold

The background of gold is done.  All of the yellow swirls are filled in and I added the maroon as well.  This section just needs the leaves and the  border.

Up and over

I moved up and over to the left and am working the gold fabric.  So far some of the yellow and a lot of the gold is done.

Ripples of beads

 I added the water ripples in beads!  I love beads on needlepoint....great bling and dimension!

Just the maroon

I moved up and stitched the maroon part of the ribbon.  I will come back to the gold in a bit.

In between

In between the ribbon I was planning a Scotch stitch but it did not look right when I laid in the dark blue, so out it came.  Basket weave was the final choice after trying three other stitches.  Rule of thumb for me is that every canvas does need a place for the eye  to rest so I am now happy with this section.

Starting in

I am working the white background in the center first and today I finished about 3/4  of it.  I see lots of fun with this 6 inch circle!

More mail!

Meditating Mums coaster came in the mail this week too!  It is a six inch design on 18 count.  I have pulled threads, bought some, and am ready to put this on the stretcher bars!  I will be writing the stitch guide too!
