Spookin' Finished

Spookin' by Leigh Designs was also finished by Sue Parsons at West Coast Finishing.  This is a stand up box on four green ball feet.  There is gold behind the black background which shows the stitch pattern and the sides and back are black dupioni silk accented by the twisted cord and ribbons on top.

Finished

Beads!

The face is beaded!  Look closely to see the pearly beads.

The stems are finished

The stems are done and I have started beading the surface of the pumpkin.

Stems

Progress on the stems!  Both of the bronze threads are shiny but don't show up so much.

Greenery

I stitched the vein on the leaf on the bottom right.  Next I added the tendrils on the right.

I started the stems at the top.  There are six threads in the stems!

All but...........

I finished the last section of the bottom leaf except for the center vein.

The bottom leaf

The stitch guide called for this leaf to be stitched in Burden Stitch.  I began the leaf, studied it, and removed all of that.  I also changed one of the colors.  It is called personalizing a stitch guide to your own tastes.  Sorry, Robin.

The cut outs

All of the cut outs on the face are done!

Side cutouts and a nose

I have finished the cutouts on the top as well as Spookin's nose.  

Eyes

I did a close up of the eyes so you can see the shine.  They are done and I have started the cut out on the right.

The background is done

I have finished all of the background!  Hopefully you can see it!  I have started filling in the left eye.

Moving on

I finished step one over the entire canvas.  On the left side, I have started the row in between the curves to finish the pattern.  It is hard to see it, but it is there.  

Background

I have started the background.  The right side is done and I am now compensating down the left side.  You can see the perle I am using to track the pattern on the left.  I find it easier to stitch through the other areas with something like perle so I don't lose the pattern rhythm.  I have put a piece of white fabric behind the canvas so you could see the design so far.

Down to the chin

Step one of the white is done down to the chin.  I need to add beads, but will do that later.

To the nose

The background of the pumpkin is stitched down to the nose!

The first step is to start on the background of the pumpkin!  Nice stitch choice by Robin King!

Spookin
