Fun stuff!

The penguin's body is Double Romanian in white Mandarin Floss and DMC floss.  I added a pom pom to his hat and then used two strands of Fuzzy Stuff to do the hatband.  His feet are two stands of Burmilana in long stitches.

Finsihed!

I added the broom handle in packed stem stitch with Classic Vineyard Silk and then I padded horizontal stitches for the straw areas.  I came back over the top with black Straw silk in long stitches to create the straw broom part and added the frizzy parts in the same thread.  Last, I beaded the black dots in the background with Sundance size 14 beads.  This one is ready for the finisher.

The Gown

I stitched the rest of the gown in Hungarian stitch.  When I was perusing  my stitching books, I grabbed Carole Lake's Just in the Nick of Time book.  Her books are always on my worktable.  When she was talking about uses for the Hungarian stitch she suggested using the stitch for the vertical areas on clothing and the Mosaic on sleeve (slanted) and it is perfect for this witch.  Thanks Carole!

Catching up.

I have been stitching and forgot to post!  The houses and pumpkins are tent and basketweave stitches with Silk Lame Braid 18 01 for the black and then Petite for the yellow.  I used four strands of Mandarin floss and packed stem stitches for the branches.  The smaller branches are worked with two strands.  The hat is Neon Rays in Serendipity stitch.  Then I did Trapunto and stuffed it from the back so it stands out, but that does not show in the photo.  The hat brim is buttonhole stitch with the black Neon Rays.....Her face, hand, and hair are stitched with Mandarin as well using four strands. The hair sticking out around her are black Fuzzy Stuff.  Her sleeve is Mosaic stitch turned to create the direction using Silk Lame Braid as well.  A lot of this is hard to see due to the all black.

Putrid Pumpkin is Finished!

Putrid Pumpkin is finished.  The finisher will be adding the putrid foam on the left and attaching the green coils on both sides so they are left unattached for now.  Can't wait to see this one done!
