It is a box!

The Tooth Fairy Box came back from the finisher! It is 1 7/8 inches square. The top photo shows with the lid open, and then the padded inside, and finally the top. It is so darn cute! I can hardly wait to give it to the kids! The finishing was done by Michele at Stitchery Square in Camden, Maine. She came to me highly recommended and I see why! She does great work! Her website is: www.stitcherysquare.com. I hope you check it out as I could not be more pleased!

I also painted on the background of the Tassel and Roses today! I will resume stitching on it tomorrow!

Just a bit more

Last night I worked on the tooth fairy box and got quite a bit more done! I am concentrating on the blue only and will come back and fill in the gold and the bead when all the rest is done. I am thinking maybe one more session and this will be fini!
In the meantime, I also pondering the blue background on the roses and tassel piece. I am going to repaint the canvas another shade darker so I can use my navy fibers and get moving on that background. Having set it aside for a day and mulling it over, I have made that decision. If I have time I will start painting it tomorrow night. If not, who knows what will be here tomorrow! LOL

Intermission

I took a one day break from the Roses & Tassels. It is a very large piece, and I gave my arms and shoulders a break tonight. I picked up the Tooth Fairy Box and did another inch down. I think I am over half way now! This is almost done and I should finish it and get it off to the finisher for the kids, but not right now. Tomorrow I will be back working on the Ribbons!

Half Way

I finally made it to half way with about 14 inches of Kreinik left....yes, I will have to pick up more of the 014 in order to go any further. I will try and get by there tomorrow if I can. In the meantime, I will work the gold snowflakes and add those beads.

The bottom of the box

I worked on the bottom of the Tooth Fairy Box by Julia tonight. I am doing basketweave stitch in the Kreinik and you can see I finished quite a bit. I will put the gold stars in a few at a time, but just wanted to do as much of the background as I could. Having seen the little ones over Christmas, I decided I better hurry and get this one done.

The top is done

Tonight's rotation is the Tooth Fairy Box. I finished the top with the Kreinik and then added the beads in the center of the gold stars. I moved down and started the bottom and got quite a bit of it in already. Remember this is all basketweave as the sides are going to fold up and create the bottom of the box before the hinge is attached and the top put on. Sorry that I did not focus better on this one!

Filling in

I almost got the top piece all filled in. I am doing basketweave with the Kreinik. I worked all of the blue through the words and then came back and filled in with the white. I should finish the top piece on the next rotation of this piece and start on the bottom then.

It has been a while!

I resumed the rotation and started back in on the Tooth Fairy Box. I had taken her hair and sleeves out as her hair was too light and the sleeve outline too dark. I replaced those few stitches and then resumed the basketweave to fill in the top of the box. I got quit a bit of worked and as a reminder this is Kreinik color 014. I am almost to the words!

One extreme to the other

I started the last of the new projects in the rotation. It is a lot smaller that the last one!
I bought this canvas by Julia on eBay to stitch for my great niece and nephew. Her website is here:
http://needleworks.ehclients.com/index.php/jngallery/
They had purchased it from Pocket Full of Stitches.
http://www.pfos.com/
This canvas is 20 count and it came with the frame for the box along with the picture.
I am using Kreinik #8 braids with the exception of her face and hands. Those were stitched with DMC Rayon. First, I stitched the hair in 191, a very soft yellow. Then I did the face and hands in the pink rayon. The wings are worked in 032, the opalescent white. I outlined the wings in 008HL and then filled them in with 4001. I started working the basket weave in the top right corner in 014. I will do the stars in 002HL as I get there.
I have seen several of these boxes and think they are so cute. I am happy to stitch this one for the kids!
