Not so sure

So I had gone by the fabric store and picked up the upholstery trim to use as the base for the tassel cord and planned on using Soie D'Alger in shades of blue to replicate it. I laid in six strands diagonally to cover and then come back with two strand in a darker shade to give it the appearance of the painted canvas. Now, I am not sure I like the colors with the rest of it and or my idea. Whatcha think?

Personally I like the colors fine. They should be lighter in color to show up as the central part of the design in my opinion. But what I see on my monitor may have no relationship to what the colors actually are, so you really have to suit yourself with colors. Only you can really see them.

Take this to the stitching group and get input from them as they can all see it in person, that's my advice!

Clever idea, by the way. I'm sure you'll make it look great.

It's way way too bright - it looks rather like a big crack cutting the picture in half, and very distracting. Kind if distracts from the lower intensity threads you've used.

How exciting to be at this final stage of the decision making. I think I am having a difficult time telling if this color works because the tassel is cut off from the photo. The center cord may very well lead your eye where it should go but without the tassel the flow stops making it hard to tell. The technique you are using is great and very clever. You've done above and beyond justice to this canvas making it unique and beautiful.
