Instead of...

It is that time of year, veggies and fruit abound!  Instead of stitching....like I planned.....I canned tomatoes.  Do your fingers turn red after peeling and stuffing those devils in the jars?  Mine do!  Then, the Red Haven peaches are in so, of course, I had to make peach jam.  Adding insult to the injury of the time spent doing this, that darn maid never shows up, so, while the tomatoes were processing in the canner, I cleaned up the kitchen mess. And wash my arms clear to the elbow!   Not nearly as much fun as stitching, but I know we will enjoy the goodies this winter.  Oh, and one more thing.....I am not going to the farmer's market again for at least two weeks!  And, now, I think I will go and read the paper and put my feet up and contemplate stitching a lot tomorrow.

You can see the end of the background Brick Stitching to be done!  Next round on this one will finish all the Brick stitches and I will be able to work snow flakes.....good thing, since it is going  to get warmer here!

Fours

I did all four of the  #4 patches.  This was worked with two needles.  One had two strands of Soie D Alger and the other a strand of Kreinik.  In the closeup photo there are two sections, one under the purple and one on top of the purple.  In the top overall photo, you can also see the new blue on the top left that I have started patches #5.

Just over 2

Actually the Brick stitch is worked over two threads, but I was referring to the fact that I worked on this just over 2 hours and this is where I am at.  I think some evil demon snuck in here yesterday and took out what I had done.  I thought that two more sessions would have finished the gray, but I am rethinking it will be two more.....and, just in case, I marked the back side to make sure no one is ripping out what I am putting in while I am not looking!

Patches #3

All five of the Purple Patches, or number 3, are done.  I finished all the background tent stitches with the stripped strand of Trebizond to complete each one.  Reminds me of the Dolly Parton song, "Coat of many colors".  (Not that I am that old, but someone told me about it!  LOL)

Will you look at that?

I stitched almost two inches of Brick stitch and can see the bottom of the background!  Stitching at this pace, I should have the background finished in two more sessions.  Woohoo!

Here is the full photo of the progress for today.  I worked on Patches number 3.  I had already put in the diagonal Kreinik.  I then used two strands of Soie D'Alger and laid in the diagonal patterns in all the areas.

 

Last, I started filling in the open thread around each area with an unplied single strand from Trebizond to do the tent stitching in between.  Trebizond is a triple twist which I undid and then used single strands to do this
stitch.  Cool!  I only just started this one so I will finish all the others on the next visit.
