Next up!

I have framed up this Joy Juarez santa circle and am pulling threads to begin this piece.  It is a 6.75 inch circle on 18 count that is beautifully painted.  See the white and gold shiny in the border too?

Loretta Design

I finished up the Rhodes stitches in all four quandrants.  They change direction to increase the shine.  This design does not have a name but it is certainly pretty.  If you would like the chart, enter your name in the comment section and one lucky person will receive it!

Another Finish!

The Holly Ornament by Melissa Shirley is finished!  I bought the canvas from Good Harbor Needlepoint along with the stitch guide by Patricia Sone.  I did follow everything she had written for the guide.  This one is ready for finishing.

Working right along!

I finished the bottom bands of colors and have the background almost done!  This is a fast stitch!

So cute!

This little canvas is so cute!  It is stitching up fast too!  The ornament cap is done, the top designs are worked down to the white area.  From the bottom up, two rows are in!

From the work table

I have all the threads pulled and am going to frame this one up.  Another one that will come off the work table to the frame......Melissa Shirley Designs, 1832-D  Holly Ornament with a stitch guide by Patricia Sone.

All the Jacquard

I have finished all of the Jacquard stitches so this is the overall size of the piece.  I am going to fill in the 4 x 4 thread areas next.  Make sure and check out Jane's piece on her Loretta blog as she is using different colors and threads.  http://lorettaspears.blogspot.com/

The table runner

And it is finished!  What a happy piece!  Thanks to Machelle Somerville for the great canvas!

The vase is full of water

I finished stitching all of the water in the vase.  Just the table runner to go!

The last flower

The thread came in and I finished the last of the flowers!  This large orange and yellow flower is on the bottom left of the canvas.

I have started filling in the water in the vase.  I did have to add another row of background due to the water line in the vase.  I also set up the pattern for the table runner.

Look closely!

You have to look very closely to see that I have outlined the vase and stitched the oval design on it.  I am pondering the green splashes of color in the bottom of the vase.

Jacquard stitching

I am stitching the Jacquard stitches around the center box.  Notice the sheen changes when the direction changes in each quandrant.  I lightened the photo a lot so you can see the difference.

Stems

The stems in the vase are all stitched.  I will be stitching over the parts that are in the water.

Overall Progress

Here is where I am so far.  I have the orange and gold flower on the lower left to finish but am waiting for threads to come in.  I am going to start on the stems in the water next.

The double yellow

The second yellow with yellow flower is finished.  Only one flower left to finish!

Last of the red

I finished up the red flower!  Everything red on the canvas is stitched!  Moving on to that yellow one on the left.

Another one!

I finished another flower!  Just three more to finish and the bouquet will be filled in.  This one is a bit fuzzy with some sequins.

The last ones

Even though I haven't finished the yellow and orange center in the lower left, I went ahead and started the two shades of yellow  flower!  There is a large one of these and a smaller one in the lower right of this photo.  When I finish these, the flowers will be all done.

A Design by Loretta Spears Progress

I am following the instructions for this piece.  The center motif is a four way bargello design that is laid in place wth three strands of  the floss.  Then the diagonal darning pattern is worked around it in Perle.  Very pastel but pretty.

Orange flower centers

Beading the centers of the large orange and yellow flowers, and added some long stacks too!

And the second one of these

I have started the second large orange and yellow flower.  Still have more petals to finish.

The finished roses

I finished up the large center front orange rose and then filled the center of the large red and pink one too!

Starting on orange

I am working on the two orange and yellow flowers.  All of this one is stitched and waiting for the center.

Most of the the large red

Most of the large red flower on the right is done.  I ran out of thread to finish the red petals, so I beaded and sequined the center and will move on.

Here and there

All the green leaves and stems are finished on the right side.  I am working on finishing up the large red and pink flower now.

The last two green ones

I finished the last two green flowers and all of the dark red leaves.  I have also stitched a few more green leaves and have just a few left to do.

A Design by Loretta Spears

Jane in Chilly Hollow and I are going to work a counted chart.  This is simply titled A Design by Loretta Spears and was published by Needle Necessities in 1993.  The design calls for gray Congress Cloth but I am using pale blue with Threadworx.  The Needle Necessities color conversions are 1133 for the floss and 81133 for the Perle.

Another green flower and........

I finished another green flower, the bud behind it and more stems in the upper right corner.

I also took an overall photo to show the progress so far!

The large red and pink

I finished all of the yellow and gold background spikes.  I then did a couple more stems before starting the red and pink flower.  I have the back three petals stitched and most of the pink area done.

 I completed two more of the burgundy leaves, spikes across the top, and started the large red background rose.  I am continuing to work here and there...where shall I go next!
