Some on..........

So I worked some Milanese and 4 way continental on his hat, filled in more of his sleeve and coat bottom.

Inching along

Back to a few more inches of black around the posy!  After the design going so fast, it is difficult to see how slow the basket weave goes!

So far, so cute!

I have worked the French knots on Santa's hat and sleeve cuff.  I have put in the first step on his coat and sleeve with a four way continental.  I had to order a couple of threads so I am working with what I have to get this fun guy started.  His French knots are done with 5 strands of white Splendor in a 3 wrap knot.  The continental is done is a size 16 Kreinik.

Just about half

I am at just about half way around with the additional black!

Look carefully

In between stitching black, I need some color....so where is it?  LOL  I have traced the line drawing for Old Saint Nick by Cheryl Schaeffer on the canvas and pulled threads.  I am sort of following the stitch guide.  This has been in the stash for a loooonnnngggg time so I updating some fibers.  He is on a 12 x 12 set of bars.

Working the black

After a few emails and phone calls, we have decided to work black around the Camellia before framing it.
The mat can be cut as a round and will make my framer's life much easier.  It will still be stunning and I like the way it is already making the flower "pop"!

The finished feathers!

All of the feathers are stitched!  I will take this off the frame and get it to the framer!

And that one too

The pink and white one is all done and there are two left to do!  This is going fast!

White and pink

This next very large feather is done in white and then surrounded by pink....quite a bit is done, but more to go on it.  Then below it, you can see the outline of the last two feathers in this  piece.

Fancy!

This one turned out very fancy, I think!   Just a couple more to go!

Back to blue

The lower left feather is done in 2 shades of blue....did not get this one all done today!

Another pair

The two at the bottom in the center are done....one is lighter than the other, but it does not show up well...

Very open

This next feather is very open!  More Marlitt for the feather itself and Kreinik for the base stitches.

Two more

The very top left blue feather and bottom right green feathers are now done.

Number 7

Feather # 7 is done....all in pink and accented with minty green

Two small ones

The top one is blue, pink and white frosted...the one below is just two shades of purple

Four!

I finished feather four!  It is highly textured but fits in with the frosted others.

So far........

I finished feather 3 by adding sprays of Marlitt over the top of the previous stitching.  Feather 4 is also done in Marlitt.   I was working right along and realized I mad a counting area way back where I started.  So I ripped all of yesterday out and started over!  This is the base pattern with more to come on the large feather.

Two, most of three

It is a bit of a dark photo but you can see that feather 2 is done and most of three is finished.  All Marlitt except the base of two which is Kreinik.

So far

Busy day today but I got the base of the feather done and will work on the rest of it tomorrow!

The first feather

Here is the first feather.....not what you expected is it?  I am working with Anchor Marlitt and Kreinik #8.

What in the world?

My next project is from the stash.  Frosted Feathers is by Debbie Deem.  It calls for hand painted 24 count Congress Cloth, so.....Mom painted it for me since she is the painter in the family.  It is on 10 x 14 stretcher bars and I am changing the fibers and colors.

I did a closeup of the padded center that is covered with Fuzzy Stuff because of the stunning beads!
