It is time to start on the Stag! I have finished his antlers and head. No, the bottom green is not done yet, but
I just had to get started on another color for a little while!

Jubilee is Framed!
Here is the photo of Jubilee by Leigh Designs all framed! The mat is a white silk up next to the black mat followed by the silver frame! I think it is stunning! The stitch guide for the piece is now also available! If you have the canvas you can purchase it from me, or it will come with the canvas from your shop!

Green
I stitched a few boxes on the left and then did a few more on the right. Overall, not that much green left to go!

Not just needlepoint
So not only stitching! My niece, in the foreground, sister and I went to a glassworking class! Above are the two kilns and instructors. Sara is seated at the workbench where we all created a pair of long stemmed flowers. After John picks up the hot glass, we each pulled the blobs into the shape of the flower. He then pulled the stem out to the length and cut it off the pipe. Not glass blowing this time, but pulling. Below is the pair that I brought home. The cobalt blue one on the left has some yellow in the center as does the multi colored one on the right.
Overall each is 12 inches long and they are 4 inches across the center!
I also did stitch more of the green on the stocking and progress will be posted soon!

I finished the rest of the frame across the bottom, so the the background and frame are done. Only the stag to start working in that area. I also started the toe of the plaid and have a bit of the green filled in.

At the heel
I finished all of the white in the corner of the interior of the frame. So all of the background area of the picture frame is completed. I did a few more rows of the green in the plaid so I am down to the heel area. I also started across the bottom of the picture frame! Whew!

Almost there!
I finished all of the white around the stag and all of the pink areas. I was able to finish all but a tiny bit of the white ground as well. That will be where I start tomorrow.

Pink and white
I am back to stitching after all the festivities! It was a warm and sunny day here yesterday and everyone
had a great time! I am working on the ground below the stag and have about half of it done.

Moving down
I added more green and red plaid, finished the curve of the frame and started across the bottom. I filled in around the stag's tail and under his leg a little. Last, I did the 3 rows of basketweave in white down to the frame.

A Blue Russain
I received my May issue of Needlepointers this week. I have enjoyed reading Jane's (of the Chilly Hollow blog) article! As you know she is stitching one of the Russian Santas by Leigh Designs on her blog-
chillyhollownp.BlogSpot.com/p/Russian-santa-stitch-long.htm
The article presents her ideas and what she chose up to the point that the magazine had to go to print!
Nice job, Jane!

Working down the side
Time to get the left side worked down a little further. More of the red and green plaid are done. You can see the start of the curve of the heel of the stocking!

Eye strain
Sorry about the eye strain but you will have to look close again to see that the trees on the right side of the candles are now done!

Look closely
The darkest background trees are done and I am working on the one in the front of those. It is difficult to see because I am working with a single strand of fiber and allowing the canvas to show through.

White background
today I did the rest of the white background on the far right....I also did the background trees right below it. I have started some of the next tree but it is not done yet.

Here and there
First I did a lot of white down the outside edge on the right side. I will be using colors for the trees and felt that the silk would be better for the finisher. Then I moved back over to the left side and worked green and red down to the stag's nose.

Just white
Behind the mountains and trees is a white sky. I am filling it in with basket weave. I am also working down the side at the same time.

Some red, green and white
Time to bring the green and red down the left side some more. Next I have started the snowy sky on the right.

Candles are done.
I finished stitching the candles, added a flame and then also stitched the candle cups. I think the candles look a bit like beeswax.

Starting the candles
I have started the candles and have one all done. The middle one is almost done. The flame is yet to be done on all of them.
