It is in the details
Step 40 is the Plaited Ray stitches that are worked in 4 ply Gloriana 161, the green. Five square Rhodes stitches were then worked inside each of those with the accent stitches at the top and bottom with Fyre Werks in the red. Next, Step 42 are the small Sheaf stitches along the inner border and they are worked with Silk Lame and then highlighted with Kreinik in 031.

I don't actually want to ask this, but is the top of the green plaited ray stitch in the correct place? It doesn't look evenly distributed in the space.
You might be right....will relook at it tomorrow!
The variety of threads and stitches are astounding. How big is this monster, anyway?
i think BfromM could be right. the placement of the top pink stitch is in a different place related to the octagons compared to the pink stitch related to the bottom octagons and the center of the green plaited stitch. if that makes sense.
