Just so you know....
This is the week we are moving from North Carolina to Michigan. Today the movers came and loaded up the truck with about 99.99% of all our wordly goods-the other 1% is either in one of the vehicles and or suitcase. They will leave tomorrow and we will drive on Friday. I may get a chance to stitch and I may not ,for a few days for sure anyway. I will be back as soon as I can find anything. See you soon!

Progressing On Noel
It has been a while, but I have started working on the NOEL series of four pieces by Kick Back and Stitch.
All four of the outlines are done, along with the gold inside Symrna's and then the interior square as well. I am working on the N. I did a plaited stitch in all four corners first using Kreinik, Neon Rays, and Ribbon Floss. Then outside of that, are small crescents using Kreink and DMC perle. Moving into the center is another plaited ribbon design using those already listed. Outside of the gold Kreinik is a Very Velvet pattern. Last I started the green crescents in the top left corner.
Also thanks for all the nice comments about the Fan and the Poppies. I have made a list for all you who are willing to "babysit" the pieces for a while and all the others who want to be invited to the house tour. LOL,
I appreciate the comments!

Another framed one.
Black Lace Fan is also back from the framer. The silver gold frame compliments the black suede mat.
I did a closeup so you can also see the black Ultrasuede part of the fan and how the tassel lies on the gold and silver inner mat. This also shows the shine of the Lacquered Jewels background a bit better.

The Poppies Framed
I picked up the Oriental Poppies by Pat VanCleve from the framers. Maggie does fantastic work on the pieces an dI am very pleased with this one. The suede mat accents the different colors in the poppies.

Would you believe?
I not only finished all of the background with a whopping six inches of the Patina left, but managed to work all the half cross stitches in Black Panache for the lettering! Woohoo! I am going to start finishing on this tomorrow.

More Diagonal
Tonight I worked on the Diagonal Cashmere for the main background of the banner and got quite a bit of it stitched. I think it is a compliment to the Diagonal Mosaic on the sides. Jane caught that right away! LOL

Starting the center
I finished all the white with Patina 10 using the two strands to finish the Linen Fold Stitch. I then finished the Diagonal Mosaic on the right banner. I also started the main part and am using a single strand of Patina but am doing Diagonal Cashmere stitch for the main part of the banner.

The darkest one
I finished the darkest part of the Linen Fold Stitch on the design, so another color can be put away. I also finished the gold Kreinik on the right side of the banner and started working the rest of the white. My goal is to finish all the white tomorrow night....chugging right along!

All of that
I finished all of the Patina 25 which is the medium mauve worked in the Linen Fold stitch. As I am working with two stands, it is a bit of a pull on the 18 count, but I like the way it stands out on the canvas. It also makes the ribbon banner pop.

Moving right along
I just wandered all over the place on this tonight! I worked across the top for a while, and moved on the Kreinik gold all the way around the largest part of the ribbon. Next, I did the rest of the banner on the left side and moved down to work across the bottom some more. Anne asked why I did my knots outside of the borders of the painted canvas. When I am using a very slippery thread such as Patina or when I know I will be matting a piece such as the Lace fan, I will make my L knot outside. I could make it in an area that is going to
be covered by the stitching, but since no one will ever see it, I just start and go.

Day Two
I continued working on wallpaper tonight and adding the white using two strands of the Patina as well. I worked across the bottom in the medium mauve first and then went back and added the full long column and the shorter bottom ones. I then used a single strand of Patina 136 and started the Diagonal Mosaic stitch for the ribbon on the banner and got just a little bit done on the left. Yes, Jane, I will hang it on the bedroom door, not the front door at the new house, and of course you are welcome to come and visit it and all of its' friends. Providing you wait a couple of weeks so I can find them all again! LOL

"Overnight Accommodations"
"Overnight Accommodations" is by The Point Of It All Designs.
http://thepointofitallshop.com
Isn't this just cute?! Do check out the website as not only do they create great sayings canvas, but lots of other goodies your shop can get for you. I bought this canvas last month after our cruise on the way back up the coast of Florida. I had promised myself I got to stop at Needlepoint Alley
www.needlepointalley.com
and so we did. This is a wonderful store and the ladies are very pleasant and helpful. The windows are beautifully tempting as is the layout of the store itself. I will visit them again either in person or by web.
So, I decided that this is going to be a fun 3 x 8 design on 14 count canvas. I am doing the wallpaper in Linen Fold stitch. The darker is a single strand of Patina 26. The medium shade is Patina 28 worked in two stands. I put in tent stitch under the banner in Patina 256 with a single strand and the gold banner outline is a single strand of Kreinik #12 017HL.

Last of the Trellis
I added the final sections in the trellis. The directions called for shading some of the boxes in the trellis so I filled in all of them that needed it. Follow it to see how it emphasizes the flowers. This one is ready for the magic of the framer. This picture shows, on the right, the pewter color of the Lugana fabric.
Madonna asked about DMC Fil and I answered in yesterday's comments, but in case you did not see. DMC Fil is used a single strand off the spool that does look like a spool of thread spool. It also comes in Silver. I lock it in the needle as it is a very slippery thread and use a laying tool to try and keep it flat. It is best worked with short lengths as it shreds the gold off the cotton fiber underneath. Hope that helps.

More Trellis
Tonight I completed the first step on all of the trellis. I filled in the area on the top right using one strand of the DMC Fil thread and also making the design one thread smaller . Tomorrow I start on the second step of the trellis.
