Lots going on
This Octagon design started with a square of Smrynas. Then a Rhodes stitch in the center with Frosty Rays. An overlay of Bijoux in turquoise covered that. The corner Crescents and the Ray stitches are done in two different colors of Kreinik. The star Jessicas, all 20 of them, are being worked in Panache. I still have 2 to do!

Two buds
I completed the two buds and sepals. This is all being needle painted with a single strand of floss. the top bud has 3 colors or purple and 3 greens while the bottom bud has 2 purples and 3 greens. Hard to tell I know because it is dark....The next ones should be lighter!

Time to add in something not canvas! Trish Burr's Pansies is a needlepainting kit and today I completed all of the stems....not sure why the bottom left corner is dark, but they are going to be cheery....

Adding in
I have added the Christmas 2012 ornament by Threedles into the rotation. It is the 2 inch cube ornament and is worked on 18 count. The six boxes are stitched in place with Kreinik and the Diagonal Amadeus Daggers have been started with 3 strands of Splendor. I am using the blue colorway on the pattern but did not have Soie Cristale so switched to Splendor.

Octagon #2
I have started filling in Octagon #2 which is on the left of the design. The center is worked with Petite Frosty Rays for the spiral after stitching in a box of Smyrna crosses with the Silk n Colours. Next, using Panache, I filled in the purple and then did the Mistake Stitch with more Panache in blue. Last the Crescents are done with a strand of Pebby Perle. This is the Koral Kiss colorway of A Different View by Threedles except I am working it on black.

Top Octagon
I did the purple Jessica's in the opposing crescents, the Fern stitches at the base of the Plaited stitches and the Eyelet stitches around the outside....all this needs is the beads. I will not put any beads on though until all the other stitching is done so I won't catch my threads.
