What is?

I have been using DMC Fil and been asked what is it?  This one is a single ply metallic similar to blending filament but a tad bit wider.  It is also a bit sturdier in the needle.  It comes on a spool and this pattern has used single and double ply so far.
Today's progress report!  The last vertical column on the right has Sprat's Head stitches worked in 1/16 ribbon first.  Then between those are backstitches with another color of  1/6.

The triangles are tri-layered.  Perle 5 was stitched diagonally across each one.  Then Marlitt was stitched over the top of those from the other angle to create padding.  Finally Sprat's Heads were worked in a single ply of DMC Fil over the top of those.  Very sparkly!

and that completes pages 6 and 7!

Looking at the Fil d' Or spool, I think you might need Spool Hands.

Lol, it actually does not unwind itself. I did that so you can see the fiber. It has the locking cap just like the Kreinik spools!

Pat, Thank you for the picture of the Fil. Now I will have a reference when you describe your stitching process. I will also know what to look for the next time I go thread shopping.
