Window two

I worked the frame on the top and part way down the side which is why it looks like she has caught her nose on some sort of sling as I parked the thread, but, anyway, I then also put in the Water n Ice on the top four sections!

Think earrings and eyeglass holders

Peacock Alley needlepoint, I think I have mentioned them before!, has great new goodies!  Bead Soup Starters!  The package says seed beads + small variety=Bead Gravy with lumps.  The glass bead mixes  will each string up to about "30" in length" and you can add "cr-rrunch to your diet of fibers and fabric".  They are Hofmann Originals and have a website at http:// www.beadsoupandmore.com, but you can also contact the girls at Peacock Alley to get you some.  http://www.peacockalleyneedlepoint.com  Machelle has some in the front window display on the home page and I noticed them as soon as I went in...... the ones on the left are Tomato Salsa, and the ones on the right are Crispy Blue Bright.....thinking earrings here people.  Then.....I did not know Au Ver A Soie has Soie Chenille a' Broder, shown in black......thinking eyeglass holders....chuckling to myself too!

It is working well

I got several more panes and lots more white trim done.  I like that the Water n Ice is letting the original painted buildings show through the "glass".

Real close

I shot this one real close with the light coming from the right in the hopes that you can see that the wall is a yellow green with more emphasis on yellow.  I started on the window today.  Using Water n Ice I did one of the top panes in Roman stitch over four threads as I thought it should be shortened as not to catch as it does go on a purse.  Hated it, ripped it out.  I then did the stitch over six threads.  Hated it, asked DH, he hated it.  Ripped it out again.  Then, retreating to safety, I did some of the white Splendor basketweave around the panes of glass.  Two cuss words and a mini York peppermint patty later, I threaded the Water n Ice again, and laid in a padded diagonal stitch over the bottom left pane of the top section.  Bingo!  this is the one.  Whew!  I sure am glad I am not a whiskey drinker!

Done with the yellow.

And, the wall is done!  The photo does not do this justice....if I say so myself.  I am going to take it outside tomorrow if the sun shines to photograph it.  Tomorrow I also start the window......

All across the top

The wall is now done all across the top as well as down the left side.  I hope to finish the wall tomorrow.  Jane wanted to know if her hair is going to be purple against the wall....yes, of course....it is Wild Woman after all.  My plan is to finish the back wall first.  Then do the windows.  Then her dress and earrings.  Her hair will be the last section worked.

Lipstick too

I put this on a black background tonight....not sure if I like the look, but anyway, I finished the wall to the bottom on the left, did a bit more at the top, and then did the lipstick in a darker red Splendor.  Highlight is done in Water n Ice.  I added a few more stitches on top of the flesh tone at the corners of her mouth to make it a bit more smiley or pouty...LOL

Lots more bricks

I almost finished down the lefts side!  My arm got tired.....laying bricks is hard work....but, it is going look great when we get the windows, earrings and hair!

A new occupation

Today I am a brick layer, LOL.  I started the building wall today doing the Double Brick stitch in two strands of Splendor.  I am laying the two strands so they lie perfectly and will look like rows.....tee hee....could not help that horrible pun. Just to make you feel better, I have hours of  bricklaying to do.

Let the fun begin

I worked on all the fun stuff today!  I did white Sparkle Ray Rhodes hearts on both sides of the bow loops and down.  I then did Silk Lame Braid hearts too.  I did one white heart in Frosty Rays and Kreinik #12, and then I got into the beads....gold, petites, white and Magnifica's.....I hope you can see the glitz on this!

The ribbon is done

I finished the rest of the ribbon down the middle with the single strand of Marlitt!  So now the fun begins....all the hearts to be filled in.  I did two on the left side closest to the bow in a Rhodes heart stitch with Sparkle Rays...more tomorrow!

Column B is Turquoise

Yes, Column B is Turquoise and I worked on it some yesterday and then today.  The pattern is called Petals III variation a and is started by working part of the petals with silk Mori.  Then Zwicky silk is added to fill in the rest of the petal.  The longer diagonals are worker in lime Madeira and the long straight stitches in between are done is Soi d"Alger.  Lastly the beads were added.  Very striking next to the pinks!

Thursdsay's post

Here is what I would have posted last night had Blogger been working!  I finished the center pinks section of Aurora Borealis by doing the rest of the columns in the Waterlilies Flamingo.  I then worked the double star shapes in Madeira, two strands.  This section is now complete and today I will start on the next area.

Building Boxes

Today, I filled in all around the bottom square.  First, I used six strands of green floss and boxed each of the beads.  Next, six strands of red floss made a box around the green box.  Finally, #16 Kreinik gold box the red.  This square is finished except for the letter and center.

Fran's Angel update

Today I put in the hands and sleeve.  Then I started the wings.  They are worked with one strand of silk, Kreinik gold and iridescent blending filament.  Needless to say those three threads in a needle are slippery than what?  I finished the right one....learned two new swear words, and then got most of the left one done...only one more new swear word.....that was it for tonight!

Mother's day

It was a sunny warm day and a great day to celebrate Mother's day.  My mom and dad and one of my sisters came over for a great time together.  DH cooked on the grill and we all visited and they toured the new house and saw all the new flowers we have been planting.  I hope you all had a great day as well......
back to stitching tomorrow!

What in the World?

Okay, just stare at it for a minute because I will tell you what it is......ready?.....This is called Fran's Angel!  I am working on a 9 x 9 piece of congress Cloth.  It was designed by a friend of mine a while ago....okay, a long time ago....and we will leave it at that.  Anyway, first, I padded under the gold Kid with three layers and then couched the head in place.  Below the head is size 16 Braid and I  backstitched the area.  Below that I have couched two strands of Japanese Gold.  For her wing, I started one side with Kreinik cord, a strand of China silk and a strand of Blending filament....just to see how it will look and then I went back and started down the side of her skirt with two more strands of Japanese Gold.  She is not real big, but she is going to be
cute!

More diamonds

I finished all of the small and medium Rhodes diamonds and have created the full square. I then finished all the small ones on all four sides.  Then using Silk Lame Braid I did the Upright Waffle stitches in the center.  This is all being worked in white, iridescent  and shiny fibers so it wil be difficult to see the true colors.

Rhodes Diamonds

I spent the day working Rhodes Diamonds stitches.  The smallest ones are done is two strands of Anchor Marlitt and the larger ones are done in Rainbow Gallery Fyre Werks.  Still a few more to go!

The bath

I started working on the actual bath itself.  I am doing the Flemish Bond stitch with four stands of Splendor to match the paint.  I wanted this to be a textured concrete befitting his highness in the midst of the cold winter day and thus decided on the Flemish Bond stitch.  He will still remain the focal point due to his color, but will be an interest in the piece.

Background Brick

Today I worked on the background in the lower right section and completed the Brick Stitch using two strands of Splendor.  All that is left in the section is the snow on the leaves and in the air.

Glasses

Wild Woman's glasses need to be a bit prominent as they are forward in the canvas and maybe sliding down her nose a bit.  I took DMC Memory Wire and outlined the shape of them to start.

Then, using four strands of Splendor, I laid satin stitches over the top of the wire.  I could have achieved this result by double padding the shape but the wire works great!  The I took Frosty Rays and laid in the highlights on her glasses.
I was asked the size of this canvas and am not sure I ever told you but she is 10 inches wide and 8 inches high.  This is going on a Lee purse as the insert when I get it done, and yes, it is for me!  LOL
