Pattern Seven

I have added more basketweave on the side and finished the laid and couched pattern on the top left.  I have finished almost all of pattern seven and just have a few more French knots to add to complete it.

Whoo'ten is Finished!

The last piece in the finishing box is Whoo'ten by Leigh Designs.  This is also a stand up box with four orange ball feet.  The gold behind the black shows off the background stitch.  The twisted cord detail, black dupioni silk and ribbons add to the design.  I did write a stitch guide for this canvas and it is available from me or through your shop.

Another pattern

I filled in the bottom center pattern, added more laid and couched stitches and more basketweave.  I am not following the stitching order called for in the chart, by the way.  I am working around the outside and down to keep from working over the top of the previously stitched areas.

More on the outside

I am working more on the outside borders.  The top right shows that side completed with the laid ribbon that is couched in silk.  I have also done more of the basket weave and reverse basket weave next to the silver boxes.

The Flower Cart

Pattie sent me a photo of her finished flower cart.  I wrote a guide for her and she made some changes.....which is what most of hope a stitcher will do...and it looks fabulous.  Thanks for the photo Pattie!  Canvas is by Debbie Mumm for Melissa Shirley.

Lots of new spaces.

Today, I finished the pattern on the left making five completed patterns.  I added the last two silver and black boxes at the bottom.  I started the fill in design on the top right.  This is Kreinik ribbon that is then couched in place with a woven pattern of silk.

So to recap:

I did the Mistake Stitch with Kreinik 1/16 ribbon in 001.  All of the basketweave is done with Kreinik #16 001. The Rhodes squares are done with 3 strands of Cygnet, which requires two skeins.  All of the others are a single skein. The four center boxes are worked first with Kreinik #12 005HL and then filled with the Kreinik 1/16 ribbon.  The silk is Silk Mill colour shade group called Fade to Black.  Each color will be used in two of the patterns.  They are Silverback, Buttercup Gray, Silver down and China Clay and I used 3 strands in each pattern.  The weaving over the ribbon is done with two strands of Welsh slate.

There is still more to do and one more color that will be added when I get there.

And then

I added the Kreinik to pattern four, added two more black and silver boxes on the left and started pattern 5.

The last gray

I have added in the fourth gray in the pattern series of Diagonal Mosaics, on the right.  I need to add the silver Kreinik in next and this one will be done.

Another shade of gray

When I ordered the Silk Mill thread, I ordered the gray to black palette.  I added the third shade of gray for the third pattern and added a couple more boxes.  Next I need to add single wrap French knots in the holes of the third pattern and then move on.

Here and there!

The photo shows the top of the piece at the bottom.  I have turned the canvas to make it easier to fill in the design areas.  Pattern number two is completed.  I added more Rhodes boxes, and then I added another square box on the left.

Right side up

I have turned the canvas back to the right side at the top.  I completed the pattern of sheafs and filled in all the Kreinik on it.  I added more black and silver boxes and then I have started the pattern to the left.  I am using three strands of Silk Mill Silk and a laying tool.

Adding on...

The inner boxes are complete.  I am doing the first pattern around in the "spokes".  This one is a sheaf stitch with 3 ply of Silk Mill silk.  After completing those, I have started filling in with the Kreinik around and under the sheaf stitches.

Parallelograms

After finishing the center basket weave, I have moved on to the parallelograms that will be on each side of the finished Rhodes stitch squares.  These are all done Kreinik #16 color 001.  So there is a lot of shine that just does not photo well.

Eterna begins!

This is the center of the design that is being worked on white 18 count that is cut 14 x 14.  The silver center is a modified Mistake stitch with Kreinik ribbon.  The tied Rhodes stitches are worked with 4 strands of Silk Mill silk.  I am filling in the area between them with #16 Kreinik silver in basketweave and the other two sides will be reverse basketweave.

Next up!

Next up is Eterna by Fancy Work & Fantasies.  This project is going to be worked on white 18 count instead of the blue 14 count that is pictured.  I am also changing from floss to silk and using silver Kreinik instead of gold.  Going on the bars today.
