And more

I finished the last of the Star Jessicas and then did eyelet stitches around the center square with Kreinik.  Next red fern stitches, and last I am working on Amadeus patterns around the outside and there is still one more step for this Octagon!

Lots going on

This Octagon design started with a square of Smrynas.  Then a Rhodes stitch in the center with Frosty Rays.  An overlay of Bijoux in turquoise covered that.  The corner Crescents and the Ray stitches are done in two different colors of Kreinik.  The star Jessicas, all 20 of them, are being worked in Panache.  I still have 2 to do!

Starting 3

I finished both the Square twos....I finished the Fleur-de lis patterns in both and added the eyelet stitches.  I have started the final squares by working another variation on the Amedueus dagger.

Square two

I have started the Square Two design on the Threedles Christmas 2012 ornament.  This time the diagonal Amadeus Daggers are turned and worked to create the prominent pattern with the Splendor.  Next I have started the Fleur-de-lis Crescents with the Kreinik creating the heart shapes....five more of those to go!

I finished the Sprat's Heads on Octagon #2, therefore that one is done until we do crystals.  I did three of the squares that surround the Octagons with each being a different pattern and fiber combination.  Next I have placed the centers in Octagon 3 and 4!

The first large pansy now has the first petal done.....Even though the sun is shining today, it is still difficult to differentiate that there are 4 colors in the petal!  I have also split outlined the rest of the petals.

Two buds

I completed the two buds and sepals.  This is all being needle painted with a single strand of floss.  the top bud has 3 colors or purple and 3 greens while the bottom bud has 2 purples and 3 greens.  Hard to tell I know because it is dark....The next ones should be lighter!

Time to add in something not canvas!  Trish Burr's Pansies is a needlepainting kit and today I completed all of the stems....not sure why the bottom left corner is dark, but they are going to be cheery....

One third

One third of the ornament is done as I have completed both of Square one.  Sprats Heads are stitiched all the way around and overlaid with Kreinik in an eyelet style stitch.  Bling!

Amadeus Diagonals

I finished all of the blades of the Amadeus Diagonals using the 3 strands of Splendor....boxes 2 and 4 are going to be identical!

Adding in

I have added the Christmas 2012 ornament by Threedles into the rotation.  It is the 2 inch cube ornament and is worked on 18 count.  The six boxes are stitched in place with Kreinik and the Diagonal Amadeus Daggers have been started with 3 strands of Splendor.  I am using the blue colorway on the pattern but did not have Soie Cristale so switched to Splendor.

Octagon #2

I have started filling in Octagon #2 which is on the left of the design.  The center is worked with Petite Frosty Rays for the spiral after stitching in a box of Smyrna crosses with the Silk n Colours.  Next, using Panache, I filled in the purple and then did the Mistake Stitch with more Panache in blue.  Last the Crescents are done with a strand of Pebby Perle.  This is the Koral Kiss colorway of A Different View by Threedles except I am working it on black.

Top Octagon

I did the purple Jessica's in the opposing crescents, the Fern stitches at the base of the Plaited stitches and the Eyelet stitches around the outside....all this needs is the beads.  I will not put any beads on though until all the other stitching is done so I won't catch my threads.

Opposing Crescents

I am back working on A Different View by Threedles.  I have now added all of the opposing Crescents inside the Octagon using Sparkle Braid.

You know how fond of the Threedles designs I am!  This is Mariposa, a butterfly worked on black 18 count and here is my color scheme.  I am setting this aside as I need to get the A Different View done before I can start another new piece!

I also picked up the Venus Eyes by Threedles at the framers.  It is a beautiful silver frame with the lush amethyst mat.  This piece will hang in my niece's home!

Here is a closeup of the hat!  Thanks to Leigh Designs for permission to blog stitch this piece.  You can check out the other floozies on Leigh's site at:

She's home!

Sloe Gin Sadie by Leigh Designs is back from the framer.  Fast Frame in Asheville, NC did the framing  She has a black filet next to the silver mat which is next to a red silk mat and then surrounded by a black frame that is trimmed in silver.  As always, Maggie does a "fab" job!

The tabletop

I finished the tabletop!  This took a bit longer than I thought it was going to, but it is worth it....a fancy tablecloth for a fancy gal!  Onto the rest of the hat!
