Fibers for the Wild Woman
Tuesday night is stitching night with the girls. I took this canvas and some of the fibers I had along. I was able to fill in the rest of the colors I need to stitch this piece. Below is a better photo of the fibers--all Splendor except for the medium purple one--Fuzzy Fur--and the Water and Ice. This is canvas BF49, but I am calling it Wild Woman!

What fun! I know I haven't gotten around to answering your question about what fibers won't be damaged in a purse. Silk is a great choice, as is wool. I think some of the synthectics like Burmilana also are very sturdy. I think I'd avoid perle cotton and snagables like the panty hose thread (Flair). The more important thing is the stitches chosen. I wouldn't pick any that have long lengths of thread over more than 3-4 threads. That's too easy to catch on something without realizing it. The only things that have rubbed on my Cape Cod Dogs purse are the long lengths of floss. Of course the starfish charms are rubbing their way through their attachment threads but they are metal.
By the way, she's DARLING. This is going to be fun-fun-fun!
