I changed the working order for a little bit. I wanted to put the Spider stitches in so I could continue working the Round Bargello pattern down the left side. With those completed I could fill in around the top one, which is a Ribbed Spider. After laying the foundation stitches with a single strand of DMC #4, I did the over and under weaving until all the ribs were covered. On the Raised Spider, I started the same way. Weaving over and under on this one makes the entire thing stand away from the canvas.
Great variations starting with the same foundation!

Changing the thread makes them look even more different, too. I never understood the variations possible with this thread until this project, something to think about later....
