Darning
The two side triangles are filled in with Marlitt in a darning pattern....lots of sheen!
Though I agree with Jane/Chilly Hollow about Marlitt, I love this piece - It's gorgeous! Happy Stitchin' Carolyn http://www.stitchopedia.com an encyclopedia of needlepoint stitches…
Not a huge fan of Marlitt, either, but I like love this piece! My favorite part are those side sections. Even though the stitching there isn't technically a textured stitch, the whole arrangement adds a nice textural look. Your stitching is, of course, so pristine and pretty!
Marlitt behaves itself if you dampen your strands, let them dry and use a laying tool. The extra sheen is fabulous. Loretta always has great stitch combinations!

Better you than me. I loathe Marlitt.
