Bow loops
So, moving right along I did the bottom left bow loop and top right loop! Woohoo! Using a single strand of Marlitt in ecru and blue, I did this in basketweave stitch and then outline in Kreinik 004 color 002. All the while I am doing this stitching I am looking at the hearts deciding how I will stitch those too. I decided to finish the bow loops and side band before I will work the hearts in the top right section of the package.

Beautiful! The sheen is amazing on this. I don't like Marlitt but you are starting to tempt me to try using it again. The effect is really pretty. Any tips on stitching with this monster thread?
I make sure to keep a tight tension on the thread....that is about it for me. Mine is skeined Marlitt so there are not a lot of kinks and I am only using a single ply which is easier.
DMC Satin Floss is much easier to use than Marlitt- still slippery, so I do the slip knot against the eye of the needle, which helps. It isn't crinkly like the other rayon they discontinued, but very very smooth.
I'll may give Marlitt a try again too; I love the sheen and colors but as Jane put it, "monster thread" is my opinion too when trying to use this eel-like thread in the past. The knot at the needle's eye would definetly improve the frustration level. Pat this project is so beautiful in this color palette.
