I started by removing the white band line for the back ring and replaced it with black. It looks better to me. I added more white markings for the next ring and then filled in more of the lens working towards the front. I hope to get the rest of the straight part of the lens filled in tomorrow night and then I can start adding more detail to the rest of the rings. Slow but sure

I guess the dark does look better. I like how this is working up, Pat. Grays are not the most exciting colors but for this piece, you couldn't do anything else. And the lens will set it all off and bring it to life.
I think so too!! But gray basketweave is getting boring! LOL
