Last nights post created several comments. Stumpwork is fascinating to stitch, precise, and I am very persnickety, and I do hope you are not too bored to watch! I am definitely following the designer instructions as there are so many elements to this piece. Lastly, after these are worked on the batiste in the hoop, they will be wired to stick out from the piece.
That said, tonight I started the top butterfly wing, and couched the wired to the fabric, and then buttonhole stitched all around the outside.

Is there a trick to keeping the buttonhole stitches smooth and even, Pat? I have trouble with this part!
My best advice is keeping the tension even and the stitches must be very close together....almost packed together to totally cover the wire.
If it were boring, we wouldn't keep coming back to watch
Hi Pat,
I'm enjoying watching your progress even though I haven't been able to comment every day.
We haven't heard from you for a while. Everything okay?
